Thread #10

This was mostly a lot of thoughts I had about what to write for the 10th tale of "Threads", but it stalled, basically because I hadn't a clue as to how I was going to end the whole thing. It was meant to go back to the Witness (from Tale #6), who's still hanging round the 616 universe trying to figure out what made it the 'golden thread'. I think by that time the whole project had got bigger than myself and it was becoming too much to put it down onto paper anymore.

I had an idea to have certain themes running through all the Threads that popped up again and again, and that linked the whole thing together. Coffee, blood, mirrors, roses, the sea, rain, butterflies, and wind chimes. All of these things made a collective appearance in Thread #6, Degrees of Separation, in Rogue's 'museum' at the beginning (except for coffee... meheheheh).

Thread #9 - "A Stitch In Time"

Unlike the other chapters I mapped out, this one actually had some sort of a direction. This was going to be tale #9 and is set in the Exiles universe (technically, since Exiles is set in various different timelines anyway ;p). Gambit, leader of the Weapon-X Exiles, is sent by the Timebroker to a timeline that was almost identical to his own home timeline, except for one crucial difference - the Dark Phoenix, who murdered his wife, is still alive, and it's his job to save the world and kill her.

I really, really loved this concept, but I got to a certain point where I just didn't know what to do with it anymore. I would really like to finish it one day, though...maybe as a one-shot, who knows?? :)

Quite a few people have asked if I'll be continuing my RoGambit fanfic "Threads". The honest answer is 'no, probably not'. I'd like to think that I'll pick it up again in the near future, but right now that particular muse just isn't showing its face again. However, I did begin to write all four of the chapters following from where I left off at tale #6, so I figured I'd post these up here over the coming days for anyone who's interested, since they're probably not going to be posted anywhere else. :( Just please note that I hadn't really formulated any plot with a lot of these, so there will be scenes that don't tally up, or that are unfinished and stop mid-sentence. I was just writing thoughts as they came down that led off on different tangents... :)

So yeah, comments and constructive crit would be appreciated, as always. :)
